Unidentified Bird of Prey - South Uist

Hi All,

Here's a bird of prey that I haven't seen before. Apologies for the not very good quality of the pics!

It's in South Uist in the Western Isles, photo was taken yesterday.

Buzzards and Hen Harriers are both common here, but it seemed a bit smaller and "flappier" than those.

Any ideas? I had wondered if it might be a juvenile peregrine...

I think it could be a kestrel but not sure.

I would say thats a Kestrel

Yes, you're right, it does look like a kestrel! It's odd - it seemed quite large, so kestrel didn't cross my mind..
