| | | Where have all the Bramblings gone? Very few around this year it seems, but good numbers of Siskins and Redpolls in the South East at least. Only a handful of Waxwings too, perhaps they're waiting for the bad weather to arrive

| | | Re: Where have all the Bramblings gone? I haven't seen any Bramblings yet this autumn, though it's not a species I see often lately. Have had some good numbers of Lesser Redpoll + a few Siskins. |

| | | Re: Where have all the Bramblings gone? Brambling are something of an influx migrant, so as long as the beech crop is good on the continent they are unlikely to come over here in large numbers. There always seems to be a peak around Jan/Feb I find which presumably coincides with snow and limited food on the continent. We have had small numbers around here on the east coast this autumn but not as much as last year. I had a few in October during a couple of days of easterlies. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
