Hi everyone, I am fairly new to birdwatching but since I starting putting food out regularly it is surprising how many different species are starting to appear in my garden! This little chap has turned up this week and regularly visits the nyjer seed feeder. Looking through my bird book I presumed it to be a lesser redpoll but someone else has said they think it is a linnet. Does anyone else have any thoughts on which it may be? Thanks.   |

That's a redpoll and I'm very jealous that he's visiting your garden. Mind you, I don't have linnet as a garden bird either so would be just as jealous if it was one of those.

Hi and welcome to WAB yes that is a male redpoll nice to get them in the garden I get them my self from time to time, and would say if you are getting one then theres a good chance you will get some more comeing as well  MIKE |
