Must be quite a heartless person to do such a thing. Even the hardened gamekeepers which I know in N.Yorks would not shoot an owl. |

Grrrrr ... so dammed annoying and frustrating when you think if only I had been walking down there on that day, I may have seen somebody with a gun and would have confronted them without hesitation.
This site is even popular with non-birding types who simply come to visit the Snape Maltings and decide to have a quiet walk down the riverside, so whoever it was was very lucky not to have been seen.
I would imagine it was some low life trying to shoot himself a wintering goose, failed to see any in range and out of frustration decided to fire at anything in sight.
