I know this is well known to all birders, but to those of you who may be new to the hobby, this maybe of some interest. I was walking through the wood this mourning, stopping as one does every now and again to have a look up at the old squirrels dreys, sure enough there they were,a group of great tits and l/tailed tits looking for insects amongst the twigs. The next time you see a old drey , have a look you never know.

Good tip. Also remember to scan the flock thoroughly as you never know what might be there. The odd Goldcrest or if your lucky even a firecrest or you could stubble upon a real rarity like a yellow browed warbler.

Twice now i've seen Willow Tits by checking the old squirrels dreys or old crows nests i'm not sure myself which , but yes its a good tip
