I know this forum is for British wildlife but I'm going mad trying to identify this bird I saw on walk along an Etang (seawater lake) near Narbonne on the Mediterranean coast.
It was about the size of a goldfinch and had yellow/gold legs and feet. It was feeding in the mud.

Thanks for the reply Rossy,
Yes it was taken yesterday, 27/11, though like in the UK it has been a very mild Autumn and wildlife is a bit mixed up with their seasons, we got eaten alive by Mossies which doesn't happen too often around here approaching December.  |

Yes I was thinking Richards Pipit to start with but couldn't pin it down to any of the descriptions in my book.

Definately has a long legged appearance , There should be a few more experienced photo i.d'ers(than me) on later to give you a better idea.

i am going to go with tree or meddow pipit shortish hind claw and lack of prominent supercilum would rule out richards for me though  MIKE |
