| | | Crazy raptor week We keep a small aviary in the garden, last week or so weve had a lot of uninvited visitors such as this...
this has been here 5 times today, possibly a young inexperienced bird getting very hungry?
and a few ays ago a kestrel in the same spot and possibly a merlin but not sure as that one was pretty quick, just saw the silhouette as it dissapeared. |

| | | Re: Crazy raptor week Welcome to WAB its a female sparrow hawk not much you can do to stop her attacking you Avery. And you may well see her on the wire trying to catch your birds as they have very long legs a male caught one of my canaries this way many years ago. I put up extra length of wood of all round the top so it is over hanging to try and deter them it stopped cats but not sparrow hawks

The parrakeets shout warnings to each other if shes around anyhow. The odd thing this time was she was here virtually all day, landed less than 6 feet from where i was stood one time and earlier in the week we had what looked like a kestrel landing also. |
