| | | Great day at Tring A break in the kitchen refurb on wednesday, a day out me myself and scope...
Tring resi (wilstone) Reports of 4 bewicks.
Upon arrival at the top of stairs(watersedge) ,from the car park were 2 , what i thought were bewicks. They turned out to be whoopers...I see the bewicks as well a little later whilst talking to another birder.
story goes that a brent goose was about in a filed , after talking to this peron, so off i went to find out... no joy , i see the same person again in the hide a little later and he said did i see it, he did it was there, i then walked back around and low and behold there it was...
A great day with 40+ birds to the tally...
whooper swan, bewick swan , brent goose, pintail,a poss perigrine flying really low by the tree line..,a goldeneye, sparrowhawk flying low and close to the hide,4 meadow pipits, fieldfare small flock, one redwing,a treecreeper, and to finish off i popped into college lake on the way home and see a reed bunting..
All them and the usual suspects..
one of the best days up Tring for a long while. And this was after i said to this kind gentleman that i never see much in the fields behind the resy...what am i like..
Oh i forgot to mention the 2 chinese water deer that came running past me.

| | | Re: Great day at Tring You did well getting Whooper + Bewick's Swans + Brent at Tring as none of those are regular in that area- it's always these surprises that make birding exciting. |

| | | Re: Great day at Tring Good job Finch! I still haven't caught up with Bewick's yet, I missed the ones that stayed fairly locally by a day last year! Hopefully they'll come back. Well done on the other stuff.
Now get back to the kitchen!!
