What is this bird
This bird sat in my apple tree for three hours this morning. What is it? Is it a Parakeet? If so, which type?

Looks like a female australian king parrot. It has obviously escaped from a house or aviary.
I would report it here in the hope its owner can be found Lost and Found Parrots - Parrot Reporting and Alerting Register

Looks like a Lory of some sort. A parrot from someone's aviary nonetheless.

Glad I was able to help. Parrot Alert is a very useful tool for reporting found or lost parrots.

Looks a fair size parrot so I just hope it might put off a would-be predator but somehow I don't think so.
