| | | Barn Owl - front & side Had a walk around our local Barn Owl territory this afternoon and got these close up front and side view shots of this beauty just as it was coming out of one of the 4 nestboxes within the territory for its late afternoon/early evening hunting foray -

Its not often you can get them against that lovely blue background, especially this time of the year. |

| | | Re: Barn Owl - front & side You know what I'm going to say Jeff!
But apart from being green with envy at you getting so close to a wild Barn Owl, LOL!, really lovely shots.
Would love to know how far away you were from that lovely creature, and what camera and settings etc.
Sorry, being a right bore now....
Cheers,
Bryan

As for camera, settings, etc - I was no more than 5 - 6 metres away and used a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400 L IS lens at 330mm, aperture priority, f/6.3, centre weighted metering, -2/3 exposure compensation, ISO400 and 1/3200th sec.
Thanks again all
Jeff
