| | | What should I do? I found a starling in my garden with a broken leg and multiple surface wounds, unable to take off again, it's stuck on land.It doesn't seem like it's in pain.. I've put it in a cardboard box with a blanket, bird seed and water. If I take it to the vet they will kill it. Is there anything else I can do? |

Is there anything else I can do? | welcome to the forum j3ssi3. their isnt much else you can do unfortunately, but id remove the seeds, and replace them with a little brown bread to which has to be soaked, looks like its been predated by either a cat or bop, dont be surprised if it dosent make it through the night, as it will be in shock, or its wounds which will more than likely be infected. good luck and let us know how you get on . ring the vet for advice. rossy. |

| | | Re: What should I do? That's sad but don't feel bad. It can be incredibly hard to nurse injured wild birds back to health and you did well that it made it through three nights. At least you tried.

| | | Re: What should I do? That's a real shame, I hope I never discover a bird in such a state. They're just not built to recover from major injuries. Being brutally honest, the best thing would be to put it out of it's misery, such as a vet would do, as you mentioned | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
