| | | Bird table paint My Dad has made me a bird table out of a thick branch with a white plastic tray on top.
It blew down on Wednesday night, as it was just driven into the ground and I said we should go to the local garden centre and get this really nice plastic on I'd seen, which is more sturdy. But dad (no doubt anticipating a sharp pain in his wallet ) said 'no need, I'll just paint it'.
So, my question is: which paints should be avoided when building a bird table?
Thanks

There are a lot of water based paints on the market,if you are going
to paint plastic it needs keying first if the paint is to have a fighting chance
of staying on but a purpose made plastic paint would be better they should be non-toxic

If it was me, I'd just get the bird table from the garden centre as you can take it apart and wash it which I would think is more hygenic. Quote:

| I think Dad would just be painting the wood as the birds don't seem to mind the white tray and it's easy to clean.
