| | | WABing at work Is anyone else guilty of this?
My office has lots of glass in and has trees on two sides. Although I am based in an industrial business park, I am very close to Saltholme's RSPB reserve and the river Tees. This week I have been seeing a lot of Bullfinch, goldfinch and blackbirds on the White Beam trees - with Swans flying up the river and starlings a plenty!! |

| | | Re: WABing at work I try, we have a window nearby but the blinds are always being pulled down, it's depressing! I've only really ever managed Wren, Blackbird, Magpie, Jay, Blue and Great Tits (heard LT Tit), Robin, Crow, Pied Wagtail and heard various gulls, although there's a lot of trees around so can't see much in the skies.

| | | Re: WABing at work awwww lucky you! I would pop if I saw a jay from my work window! I was very pleased with my bullfinches, lovely birds.
Debating whether to put a window feeder up but as I am
a) on the 2nd floor, and
b) the windows open about an inch at best
I doubt this is going to happen! |

| | | Re: WABing at work I have a walk around our huge office complex most days and hear plenty of birds and sometimes spot one or two in the planted areas. You are lucky being so close to a reserve! |

| | | Re: WABing at work so working here does have it's benefits I can't actually see the reserve, but it's onyl around 2/3 miles off.
Actually the shorter days have increased my sightings enormously so I don't feel bad about leaving work in the dark. From around 3 o clock I start to see the starlings coming in, it's wonderful |

| | | Re: WABing at work argh!!! I have never seen a waxwing. I completely missed out on the influx last year through what I can only describe as my own sheer lazyness.
I do work in an owl centre on a weekend though, so I suppose I do get to see a lot of barn owls! Nothing like seeing them in the wild though, I've only seen them hunting on a couple of occassions - although injured birds are brought into the centre on a regular basis, poor guys. |

| | | Re: WABing at work Only seen the barn owl on campus once and that was at night whilst I was helping a Ph.D. student with a moth study, keeping my eyes peeled for the waxwings this year but I doubt I will see them again.
