| | | Re: birds in garden As shrike as already said putting some feeders up will help bring some birds in to garden what birds you get in will depend a lot on what the local habitat is around were you live also if you put feeders up put them out of reach of any local cats. you will be surprised at what birds will vist feeders even in well built up places let us no what habitat is like near where you will give better clue as to what you can expect, also putting up some bird boxes will bring them in in summer to nest again dependent on local habitat on what you may get good luck MIKE

| | | Re: birds in garden Yeah, if there's food and water, they'll come for it!
I used to work for a major supermarket (don't want to name it as what comes next doesn't put them in the best of light), and due to lack of room in the warehouse they used to keep the bread deliveries outside under a canopy. It was amazing how bold the birds were getting in about it, mainly sparrows if I remember rightly, but they had little fear - returning soon after being chased off! Then again, they might have been very hungry.
The gulls used to target the fresh meat deliveries too, flying off with fillets hanging from their beaks, that was an impressive sight!
Anyway, my point is, where there is food, and particularly food and water, the birds will come. The exception being if there is a better source elsewhere, of course!
The other thing to consider is that they like some cover to be nearby, to escape into if they are threatened. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
