Are these goldeneye?
Are these ducks goldeneye, pictures not great as they were far off.

Not Goldeneye. The bird behind is a Tufted Duck as Shrike says, but not the bird infront. Note the rounded head with no hint of a tuft + also the blue-grey bill which isn't showing the extensive black on the tip of the Tufted Duck. I can't see any black on it, but the bird infront should just have a black nail- it's a Scaup

nice one Aeshna , yep can see the differences now should be better equipped to nail one in the field now.A great pic for comparisons.
