| | | Tedshoeness I have recently had a Pied Wagtail in the garden which was carrying a longish white ring on its right leg. Of course I was unable to catch the bird to obtain any more information, but it struck me that the size and colour of the ring may be identifiable. Who may be able to help?
Tedshoeness.

| | | Re: Tedshoeness Was it a metal silver ring? If not then it sounds very odd. Without seeing the number on the ring there is nothing you can report. |

| | | Re: Tedshoeness If it was European then it would almost certainly be a white wagtail rather than pied which are restricted to Britain (other than the odd breeding population in the low countries). Its a good possibility I guess. Im not aware of any schemes in the UK doing this but its possible, a British bird would have a silver ring too. |
