| | | Suburban Common Pheasant ? Female common pheasant on our shed roof this afternoon. Certainly unusual in Harrow, Middlesex. Any other suburban sightings ? |

| | | Re: Suburban Common Pheasant ? I'm not too far from you in Greenford + I had a female Pheasant in my front garden a couple of years ago. I noticed a bird at my window which seemed large + as I opened the front door it flew up + a cat was by the gate which had been worrying it.
There is a small population of Pheasants not too far away around the area of Ten Acre Wood/Gutteridge Woods in Hillingdon. It's possible some are released by the West London Shooting Club as earlier this year I saw some poults in a coop by one of the adjoining houses.
Possibly your bird came from this area. I see Pheasants quite often but also saw a Red-legged Partridge a couple of times earlier this year near the woods on an area where there's lots of soil movement. |
