| | | interesting mixed flock today walking down a pathway with some thick hedges 1st herd a dunnock so stayed still and had a look in to hedge to not only see the dunnock which I had 1st herd but noticed there was about ten or more birds flitting about in the hedge thinking unlikely they were all dunnocks got bit closer and stayed still and as well as dunnock the ones I could ID was late chiffchaff and female blackcap great view of this a goldcrest and wren there was others but no posative id's on these as deeper in to hedge out of the light lots of calling going on but could only pick out the wren dunnock and chiffchaff got a good look at this as well, the one thing that surprised me was no tits and blackcap and chiffchaff |

| | | Re: interesting mixed flock I always find it exciting at this time of year looking through these mixed flocks as you never know what's might be with them- if you're really lucky maybe a Lesser-spotted Woodpecker or maybe a Firecrest, or something even rarer such as Yellow-browed Warbler.
