| | | Re: aint birds ace I was thinking just that this morning.
Standing by my kitchen window watching loads of activity in my garden. Birds all over the various feeders I 've now got.
Sparrows, Blue Tit and Starlings jostling for position on the nearest nut feeder.
Great Tits on the nut feeder at the top of the garden.
Goldfinches on the Niger seed and flitting about excitedly.
Collar Doves wandering around the ground picking up the many seeds the sparrows drop from the feeders.
All with a very lovely chittering sound going on.
Yes. The birds sure are nice.
Enjoy your day one and all,
Bryan

| | | Re: aint birds ace Nothing wrong with that Shrike. As I type I am quaffing a very nice Shiraz Cabernet!
But to get back to birds, I posted on the Where Did You Walk Today thread yesterday - for the first time possibly ever, I went on a walk with the intention of looking for birds and was amazed at how many beautiful creatures I saw without really needing to make much effort, armed with just an old Bird fieldbook and a cheap pair of 12 x 25's.
Great tits, Blue tits, Coal Tits (I think they were coal tits but they had a kind of orange speck on their chest), Robins, Crows, Wood Pigeons, a Heron, and finally, my fave of the day, a lone Goldfinch singing in the top branches of a tree.
I reckon I'll give that another go one day!
So yes, birds are great.
