Nice shot of a Nuthatch- quite a distinct profile from a tit, though at this time of year, often associate with tit flocks. |

Thank you both for your prompt and knowledgeable replies, just looked him up in my Large BIRD book by Hayman & Hume and there he is! I'm more of a photographer than birder but I seem to have got the bug and am building up my bird knowledge by just taking pics of any bird I see and confirming their identity on here and then placing them into their individual folders on my Lightroom3...it's going to be a long and satisfying hobby I think....and thanks to all of you on here too  |

Enjoy your foray into birding welshgold- it's always so exciting when so many things are new to you + the bug really gets you.
I know many people also get into insects by taking macro-shots in their garden + local area + it just takes off. |

Thanks, and this is (hopefully positively identified by me) a Chaffinch, also taken yesterday 
A bog-standard Robin.... 
and a Mallard who seems to be laughing  |
