About a dozen of these were feeding by Ivy lake at Blashford this morning.

Can you ID for me please

its a Linnet , i was watching a load of these myself today.winter plumaged not 100 percent on sex think female.

Just to say that I was torn between Twite and female Linnet (as you can see, I'm no good at IDs)

Just looked back to some shots of a female linnet I got at Stanpit Marsh a couple of weeks back - didnt connect the two !!

I think twites are confined to a particular area of the Peak District - unless they are thriving and spreading?

They also breed in parts of Scotland + regularly winter on the east coast of England as far south as Essex, though numbers have dwindled over recent years. I saw a nice flock of c40 at Titchwell, Norfolk at the start of the year.

You can see them in some places on east coast though winter, in summer breed on moor land mainly scotland northen england though my disterbution map may be out of date

you get twite in winter on the ribble estuary lancashire, not in any great numbers though
