| | | Bird migration... Just looking at various sightings over the last few days. Dungeness Bird Ob reported 15,000 Goldfinch over the last 3 days, 10,000 of them on Friday alone!  Where do all these birds go!?! |

Where do all these birds go!?! | Goldfinch are partial migrants in Britain, with some birds remaining resident unless they are pushed south due to cold weather. Many continental birds join our local populations and winter here. However a large proportion of birds also migrate south. This is usually south/west into France and further south west into Spain and Portugal, some birds go south east into Belgium and Holland. Goldfinches can go as far south as Morocco (although it is unknown if these are British birds). Females tend to migrate more and further south than males. |

And compared to other birds the Goldfinch seem to massively outweigh them!

Nyger seed is going down a storm too! All 20 ports were filled at once this morning. Quite a sight!
