I had a sparrowhawk attack yesterday afternoon,it took a starling out my small garden it happened really quick,it was this time last year when i first saw a sparrowhawk with a starling in my garden and was hoping i wouldnt see another one,im not knocking the hawk it has to eat but the screeching starling and the attack is something i dont like to watch it plays on my mind to much. |

I had a 'close encounter' with a (I think) sparrowhawk this morning while out walking the dogs - a medium-sized raptor shot across the path and into the woods. Very fast, grey, and I had the impression of a blunt, barred tail and pointed wings...  |

Try not to disturb her if she comes back it could be a matter of life and death if she is scared away from a meal just watch from afar and let her have some peace..

This time of year there seem to be more reports of Sparrowhawks around gardens. I guess they're picking up any migratory birds or birds that are returning to gardens to feed
