Veiw from garden

We have two harrish fields next to us, and for the last few weeks we had the pleasure of seeing and hearing over two hundred, mostly Linnets with a few Greenfinchs, the twittering has been amazing, and, has unfortunately drawn a few Sparrowhawks to our area, i have never seen them here before, nor this many Linnets,

Wow what a great treat fancy having so many birds to view your very lucky.
Sparrow hawks i dont like seeing them take birds but thats nature for you. they are very quick and can turn on a sixpence.

I've never seen the term harrish field- is it a Cornish term or me just being a little ignorant here?

aeshna5, harrish, probably pronounced " arrish" means corn stubble. not sure where it comes from, but have heard it since i was a kid, and thats a while!!Dogghound, being in farming a lot of my life i know all about something having too die so something else can live, but i don't get any pleasure from seeing it, just my opinion though.
