| | | Re: Warblers? Willow Warblers I would think should be arriving in a couple of weeks time. Wood Warblers the middle of April should see them on our coasts.
I don't know about hearing any of them yet, certainly not Wood Warbler.
When out listening to birds you sojmetimes have to think of the obvious. it is highly unlikely you would hear those birds. That being the case what else could it be.
Only you heard what you heard. Is there any other bird that it could have been.
What has thrown me is that you said you thought you heard one (and at the same time mentioned both warblers). They do not sound alike so I am asking why you thought it could have been one or the other.

| | | Re: Warblers? You could hear Blackcap + Chiffchaff now as I know they have both been heard singing locally- probably overwintering birds. However the 2 species you mention shouldn't be here yet + couldn't sound more dissimilar! |

| | | Re: Warblers? sorry for the confusion guys. I was merely referring generally to a warbler heard with no particular species in mind. I was only using those species as examples of when they will b arriving. Anyway thanks guys . |

| | | Re: Warblers? Tell you what Vinny, i was thinking about this today and i reckon it could be a singing Chaffinch you have heard during spring they produce a Warbling kind of song, not to disimular to a Willow Warbler, just not as fluid |
