cold day at marshside today

After finishing work this morning ( nights) i thought id take a quick trip to marshside rspb southport.
although it was very cold i saw
38 ruff,
1 sparrowhawk
3 merlin
1 kestrel
large flock of goldfinch
1 reed bunting
12 snipe
countless lapwing
wigeon
teal
and hundreds of pink footed geese ( how they manage to count them is beyond me)
not bad for a couple of hours before bed

I still haven't seen PF Geese yet, one on my to-do-list before the end of the year

Get up to north Norfolk + you can't miss them!

looking forward to seeing flocks pass over, there was a period last autumn where loads were passing over the city over the space of around a week, even had a flock over the garden!
