Goldcrests...

Just had to share my excitement at having just spotted my first ever goldcrest!!!
And right in my own back garden!!! :-D

Not seen a goldcrest yet this year my self driveing me mad herd them in trees at burton wetlands other week but could not see them and again today herd them in two locations but still could not find them

Mike I was made up (and more than a little surprised!) to see one in my garden. I'm hoping it'll stick around for a whole, so I can try and grab a photo or two!

I think I'll be a burton over the weekend, so I'll let you know if I spot any while I'm there!!!

It was more luck than anything, I was watching the blackbirds and he just hopped out into the open! And this was about 5 minutes after a kestrel (or possibly a sparrowhawk, it flew past quicker than I could register) flew right over my head in the garden....was no more than 6 feet over my head...!!

Was a good day!

Well done seeing the Goldcrest. I had three in my garden the other day (beautiful little birds) and in my experience they don`t seem to hang around for very long, so be quick with the camera ...Bob

I spotted my first Goldcrest a few weeks ago and my picture was kindly identified on this site, but this time I managed to get a little bit of video footage. Excuse the wobbly bits, but she wasn't the easiest bird to capture.
