| | | one that got away for some 1st saw this chap on local nature reserve on Sunday afternoon having then reported it, there was a miney twitch for it yesterday and it was know were to be seen on the five lakes on the reserve had not gone far though, I got phone call early this affternoon from an angler on flooded quarry on other side of canal from reserve saying funny looking tuffty on here so got a soaking going for a look and took this pic on my phone it cropped down a lot sorry about that
Shirke is going to kick himself now  MIKE
PS it did leave there later heading south east think in the wind its only way it could go in company of some tufftys

| | | Re: one that got away for some The category C population somewhat diminishes the attraction of these for me - but then pretty much all of the ones seen in my area can be attributed to a breeding feral population. I have seen some that I believe were wild, an October influx into Essex some years ago, and some of the others I've seen may have been.
Anyway, they are attractive ducks, I hope that you enjoyed seeing it - and I'm sure that you won't "rub it in" too much with 'Shrike'!
