| | | Re: Finally a good fall Yes Filey, Flamborough and Spurn are all very good places to witness a fall at this time of year. They are very exciting and you never know what they could bring. It has been a good couple of days around here (hence me not being on WAB).
Highlights have been
3 more short-eared owls
1 hen harrier
Grey phalarope
2 x great grey shrikes
2 x Red flanked blue tails!!!!
8 yellow browed warblers (had three together at one point)
Rustic bunting
Firecrest
and a Norwegian goldcrest too.
It has turned west now though so could be a short lived autumn. No where near as good as last year . |

Hopefully T2 has been out at Languard as well - a couple of good birds there today!

| | | Re: Finally a good fall It was called Egil ,
Yes it had a fresh ring on it, from Stavanger, possibly rung just before it came over here, but I wont know until later.
Quite a few northern bullfinch too, and goldfinch and greenfinch with northern characteristics (very long winged). A couple of abietinus chiffchaffs too. |

Edit: I've just noticed my typo. Quite appropriate under the circumstances
