| | Desperately want it to be a Wren! Post 2
I have been trying to capture a Wren in Stornoway for nearly a year now, its one of the only places they live on the Outer Hebrides. They either are too quick, hide or the light is bad! They are so intelligent, you hear them so you creep nearer and they stay quite, you give up move away and they start singing again as if to say na na got you!
So this windswept morning, dressed in my thin office skirt on the way to work I am crawling in the under-growth. Is this a wren? The other bird I thought it could be was a young robin, but wrong time I thought!
It is a bit fluffed up but that was the wind and it was only 8.45am!
Thanks Debs

| | | Re: Desperately want it to be a Wren! Well there's a lesson to be learnt. Wear the skimpiest of outfits in the most inclement of weather and connect with a bird you thought you would never photograph.
Mmmm!! I thought I was doing something wrong.
Congrats Deb's. You got your bird.

Guy | I have found one myself in Scotland once, but that is the only one I have seen.
We are trying for a few birds down there. W B Diver, Gyr, Franklins Gull, Spot Sand, Dusky Warbler, Y B Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat (Asian Species) American Wigeon, Spoonbill, Red-necked Grebe, Spot Shank, Common Sandpiper, Slavonian Grebe, Iceland Gull to name but a few.

John | Good luck John- Cornwall seems to be the Holy Grail at the moment- I wish I was going- the elusive Gyr would be a real feather in the hat! |

| | | Re: Desperately want it to be a Wren! Oh I hope you do find a Gyr, as I have absolutely no idea what it is or looks like. I'm not going to look it up yet, though, I'll be optimistic and wait for your photo. |
