Wheatears

My wife and I were watching, and photographing, some young Wheatears on Dartmoor today and just trying to imagine the huge journey that some of these small birds make each year on migration. They are always one of the last summer vistors we see and one of the first we see in Spring - we will be looking forward to their return!

They are a lovely bright bird, I used to see them at the house we had near Settle, we sold the place and there is so much wildlife we miss.
