| | | Is this wild bird ready to fly free I have reared a little bird found by the roadside near my home .Should I let this bird free where I found it 3 1/2 weeks ago or in my garden? Is it ready to go ? |

| | | Re: Is this wild bird ready to fly free With doves they have a tendency to outstay their welcome. If it can fly to the nearest tree or rooftop then allow it a degree of independance; If not give it a few more days. After release continue to feed until you are sure it is strong enough. Place the food in a site that is not too exposed to avoid the bird being bullied by other birds. As it gets stronger reduce the food so that it learns to fend for itself and in time it will leave. PS If it survives the winter it will probably be back with you next spring. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
