That was my first thought, but it doesn't seem to have the right markings.

The bird is a recently fledged bird hence the very short tail A wren would be redish brown above with a light brownish barred brest and underparts and would normaly hold its tail verttically.
This bird looks just like some newly fledged reed wablers I was watching being fed by the perents in early june.

Many thanks to all who gave there opinions and it looks like a fledgling reed warbler is the new favourite and as this was taken at strumpshaw fen in norfolk it was most certainly near reeds and does have a reed warbler population mind you it also has wrens whitethroat chiffchaff willow cettis and grasshopper warblers but im happy to put this down as a reed once again thank you very much all
