Elmley Owls this evening
Wonderful hour last night, on and off, watching a pair hunting.
Trouble is, a day either side of last night and you could have seen nothing.
Adults should have finished breeding this year now and are mainly back to just feeding themselves. So most, (not all), tend to become quite nocturnal.
One hunting session just after sunset. One in the early hours, and one around dawn is the sort of pattern they could be following. Varies if the weather is bad: they don't like to hunt in heavy rain or gales.
If your post here doesn't get you a specific location near Coventry, try GOOGLING all the local birding blogs etc until you find one that reports Barn Owls quite often. Then follow that line of enquiry.
