| | Canada geese Visted a site not far from me yesterday a marsh on the mersey estaury the marsh its self is an SSI and could not get over the nos of canada geese on there well over 3500 grazeing away on 2rds of the marsh.
And it clearly looked well over grazed by these geese in places, what sort of inpact will this have on the those ducks and geese on passage that are also grazers and have in the past also visted this site as there is going to be very little for them to graze on soon.
When I visted yesterday was not much else other than these geese to see on the marsh other than some redshanks and odd one or 2 other waders to far away to ID.
Was still worth the vist though just for the black tern that was there. MIKE |

| | | Re: Canada geese It must have been a great sight, Mike.
Although they were introduced, Canada geese have been in Britain so long they are part of the background.
We have good numbers around here in east London. I think there is a local movement that means the numbers vary a lot for time to time, though the most I've seen are 100+, not thousands.
