| | | Re: Children under threat from eagles I think it is alarmist to suggest sea eagles may take young children.
There have been reports of eagle attacks on people. Apart from the recent incident involving the Very Rev Hunter Farquharson, there was an attack in June by a bald eagle in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
The Alaskan attack involved eagles that had nested nearby and were being protective of the young and I think there is a possibility that something similar could happen if sea eagles nest close to people.
I hope it doesn't happen because the eagle will be the loser in the long run. I can imagine the view expressed in this article Bald eagles attack post office at Alaska port | Reuters being replicated here.

| | | Re: Children under threat from eagles dishwash, if any person ventures to near a birds nest, or young , parents will protect, its natural, tawny owls, mistle thrushes, lapwings, terns, and the list goes on, these people need educating, as eagles dont nest in populated places, so the chances are of attacking children are virtually zilch, rossy. |

| | | Re: Children under threat from eagles A handful of birds on a remote Island.
33 million vehicles on Britains roads.
And someone has raised the question of these remote birds being potentially dangerous to children?
Oh. It's The Scottish Gamekeepers Association who have raised the point.
Enough said.
Bryan.
PS. Yetis are not dangerous to anyone.

| | | Re: Children under threat from eagles When will the people on this group of islands realise that :
1. The animals have as much right to be here as them.
2. The newspapers love exaggerating and drumming up panic (after all how would they sell their rags otherwise).
3. The namby pamby cotton wool state that used to be called Great Briton is full of alarmist who really need to get out of all that cotton wool and into the big wide world to learn what it's really all about.
Hopefully one day the word ''NEWSPAPER'' will be changed to something more appropriate - like ..............................................
