| | | Caged fat feeder for smaller birds I would like to purchase a cage type feeder that prevents access to anything of starling size and above. Could someone recommend a good one that is not too expensive. I have other feeders that cater for larger birds and would be placing this in a quieter area of my garden where tits and other smaller birds can feed without fear of larger birds descending on all the food.
Thanks. |

| | | Re: Caged fat feeder for smaller birds Is that for fat blocks or balls have seen some for fat balls in wilcos not seen any for blocks though. I have a caged feeder for nuts but a magpie has worked out how to knock it of its hook so it fell spilling all the nuts
What have found though is to try and put one of my fat feeders on long hook so it swings a lot and is less easy for larger birds to get on and put some easy ones for larger bird to go at works very well for me as long keep them all topped up MIKE |

I have one hanging like you say though the jackdaws and starlings don't seem to find it a problem. |

| | | Re: Caged fat feeder for smaller birds I've been looking for the answer to this question too. It doesn't seem to matter what type of food or feeder I put up the starlings get it all. They cling and perch on everything. I got one hanging feeder that has a domed roof and is only supposed to allow small birds in but they manage that just fine. Interested in any suggestions to allow tits and robins to get a look in... |
