Sounds like you've got yourself a bargain. Remember to pack a couple a spare battery sets if you head out and about. This will give you a good introduction into photographing wildlife, as warned, don't expect Gallery worthy shots straight away, keep practising and you'll get there.
Good luck, all the best and I look forward to seeing some of your shots.

| | | Re: what camera ? A major thing to consider, besides the availability of a long lens facility, is shutter lag - check the spec before you buy.
If your camera is fitted with a extendable shutter release and you have a tripod (perhaps you have one for a scope), it's possible to set up a camera on a tripod pointing at a prepared feeding area and then sit and wait on the end of a long lead (or some wireless system).
Even with a long lens you have to get pretty close to birds to fill the frame, especially small birds, so some sort of hide might be worth considering (a simple camo net will do if you want to travel light.
A real advantage is if you know your birds, their habits/feeding, etc. and have a local patch which you can watch regularly and get to know the pattern the birds move about to. Pick your spot early and wait for high tide to bring the waders to you, if you sit still they may approach quite close, and you can get away with quite limited gear. |

If you go to this link http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digi..._manual_01.pdf
You can download a PDF version of the manual. You'll need adobe reader, google will be your friend.
Hope this helps

| | | Re: what camera ? I don't know if you have a batt charger yet or not, but this one is very good, (Energizer model no chcc-uk.) I got mine from tesco, I think it was complete with 4 aa battery. It does take around 9 hours to charge them, I seem to remember. But once in the camera the charge does last a long time. I did try other charges, but none where as good as this one, in terms of the charge lasting a long time.
