| | | Re: Attacked by an eagle Living just a stones throw from RSPB Minsmere, I was all for the re-introduction of the Sea Eagle, but reading this story (and we only have Mr Farquharsen's version of accounts) it seems things could have gone terribly wrong if the re-introduction had gone ahead.
But as Eeyore points out, why did the silly bug/tick take the netting down ?

| | | Re: Attacked by an eagle Sorry forgot to mention the taking down of netting in my earlier post. I agree that was not a wise move, but we don't know the full circumstances.
There should not be an overreaction but from the, admittedly, very few sea eagles I've seen they seem fairly tolerant of human presence which could cause problems.
However, this is only one incident and hopefully there will not be any similar ones.
Do agree with King E, the RSPB paying for the netting appears to set a precedent.

| | | Re: Attacked by an eagle As I have an interest in such matters, I emailed the Very Rev'd Farquharson this morning and have received a reply in which the matter of the missing netting has been explained.
It would be wrong to level accusations of apparent net removal folly without knowing the full facts, as Tringa says, "we don't know the full circumstances". |
