| | | Duck for id please. Apologies for the poor quality of the photo it is quite over exposed. I noticed this duck or possibly grebe swimming amongst the Mallards on Kelvin grove park's duck pond today. The mark on it's beak is more yellow than white like the photo shows it to be and the plumage on the body was brown with a rusty tinge to it. It also had black feathers with white around the edges of the underside of it's tail and a quite distinctive white throat. Any replies with an idea of an id would be appreciated. |

Thanks for the replies, I'm kicking myself for not getting this one now, as I've been photographing the pair of Moorhens raising their young almost every day for the last couple of weeks now! I hadn't seen either of the two chicks for a few days now and it's amazing how much they've grown and changed in appearance in such a short space of time. |
