When you in books about nesting you see something like..

goldcrest for example..

7-8 eggs ;2 broods; april-july...

my question is .. April- July, does it mean the young would have fledged in july or do they lay there eggs within that timeand young fledge after july ..

If I read that, I would read it as the lay between those months, but I'm usually wrong!

I would say that either could be meant, but in the example you give most Goldcrests are likely to be fledged by the end of July.
