Best place to get a photo of a kingfisher - ideas please

I would love to take a picture of a kingfisher and have been to various places like fairburn ings. I can't travel too far and live in West Yorkshire. I know that the weather isn't great at the moment but wondered if anyone had a suggestion as to where to get good shots????

i live on the other side of the pennines near a place called moore nature reserve on the runcorn/warrington border , you very often get great sights of kingfisher here but i'm sure there would be places a bit nearer.

Absolutely the best place is Fairburn near the screen. Make sure it's a weekday and you're patient.

Another good place if you can wait until winter is Rodley Nature reserve in Leeds, seen them within 10m, a guy took a picture with a point and shoot that was very good when I was there

Hi Went to Fairburn and stood by the screen for ages - no sign of a kingfisher , maybe it's the wrong time of year. I did however get some stunning shots of Hawker dragonfly and other species. In one place the dragonfly just sat happily on a bush and let me take shot after shot with my macro lens. What do you think of the results???
