| | | Bird of prey? I've just got back from a walk in Derbyshire. On it I saw a large ish bird if prey circling. It was brown and making a screeching sound, like an eagle. I don't know if all birds of prey sound the same? It was larger than a kestrel, and its wings were brown. I know this is vague but any ideas? |

| | | Re: Bird of prey? This time of year young buzzards do a lot of shouting - seemingly for hours sometimes as they try to persuade their parents to feed them and they do often do this on the wing too. Plus they are bog and brown so that would be my guess. It is a different sound to the adults call so calls on other websites may not seem to match.
