| | Bird kills found in garden then saw Sparrow Hawk I found 2 separate bird kills... wood pigeons by looking at the feathers left and wondered how these came about. I mentioned this to my partner and then went back inside to continue to listen to Radio 5, Test Match Special.. England doing very well against India and then Bell was bowled... by Sharma... playing an adventurous shot.. then looking out into the garden towards where a kill had been made I saw a bird fly to settle down about 3 feet above the bundle of feathers.
Not even thinking it was a bird of prey I initially thought it to be a wood pigeon... then noticing the beak thought it to be a bird of prey. I called out to my partner and we both agreed it to be a hawk. I got my Lumix Panasomic DMC-TZ8, and took a stream of pictures... I am sure it had a kill in it's talons!
This is my first attempt at taking these kind of photos... in my own garden no less... and have uploaded the best picture of the five taken. I now had the answer to my bird kill query. |

| | | Re: Bird kills found in garden then saw Sparrow Hawk Yes Sparrowhawk is the most common bird of prey found in the garden, in fact it's pretty much the only one you'll get in your garden. Look forward to seeing the photos
