| | | plover ID saw this today at Attenborough, not sure what it is. i was thinking it could be a juvenile ringed or little ringed plover. any ideas?

I can't see any yellow on the bill (only viewing on my phone though), and the lack of white above the eye + slim shape are typical of LRP. |

| | | Re: plover ID Did think of LRP at 1st but on second photo dos seem to have yellow on bill and black ring on neck looks more like that of RP and looks as if it is in molt. smallsize of photo dos make it hard to be sure though.  MIKE |

| | | Re: plover ID Little Ringed Plover for me too. That thin bill, for a start... and I can't see any colour on the bill on my PC monitor, although the pics are still very small. Not that a juv. RP would show yellow colour there anyway. There is no white above the eye which there would be in a RP, even a juvenile.
Oh, and birds in the UK mo ult!

| | | Re: plover ID many thanks!!! nik - i've seen a few LRPs at attenborough now, late april is best! this one was on the first spit on the tween pond as you look from the new(ish) viewing screen from the main path from the visitor centre. only a couple of metres away was a greenshank too! excellent!
