| | | National Nest Box Week Didn't know if people are aware but it is currently National Nest Box Week until the 21st of feb and an ideal time to build/buy a nest box and put one up so if you're bored tomorrow then there is something to do
Myself i have put up 8 nestboxes in the last few weeks around the place. 6 around a local lake, spread out over a 4/5 acre area and 2 at work one of which is regularly being checked out by a Blue Tit already, seen him going in and out on a daily basis
This site has all the information National Nest Box Week |

| | | Re: National Nest Box Week We have roosting birds in our 2 of our 3 camera equipped boxes - a great tit in Box 1, and a bluetit in our new box that has a top camera and a side camera. The latter is a colour/infrared camera and this is the first time we've been able to watch after dark. I feel rather like a Peepng Tom! Our third box is inspected regularly by a pair of bluetits. |

I wish your daughter a swift recovery, goosey. |

So far, since we started in 2001 we've only had one failed box, and this was when the female bluetit from Box 1 vanished when the nest was finished, and we were expecting to see the first egg at any time. The male kept visiting the box, and calling her for over a week. If you go to the diary entry for Saturday 24th April 2004, you'll be able to read the sad story. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
