| | | Robins gone? Wonder if anyone can help me please? Until 1 month ago we had a robin visit our feeders very regularly, at least every 30 seconds, (we assume 'he' was feeding his mate whilst she was nesting with chicks.) He would eat meal worms and wax worms from our hands and was a regular visitor to our lounge as well as the feeders. However, we went on holiday for 3 weeks and have hardly seen him since We left instructions on topping up the feeders etc and offering the worms , we have been assured this was done by our two boys!!!! Is there a reason the robin appears to have stopped feeding here, we have only seen him maybe 3 times since we returned, or could it be that they were not offered food here so have found it elsewhere? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

| | | Re: Robins gone? We had a very tame Robin earlier in the year, when he was obviously feeding babies. He was very cheeky and would appear next to us whenever we went into the garden and also sat on top of the bird table staring at us when we were in the kitchen obviously waiting for food. But one day he didn't come and we didn't see him for weeks until last week when I was watering the garden he flew around my head and landed at my feet - I called my husband and he threw some of the pink suet pellets onto the lawn which Robin gobbled up, and he (the Robin) has been back every day since. He was a bit scruffy when he first re-appeared but is looking smarter now. I'm fairly sure it is the same one as there have been other Robins about but none of them came and 'asked' to be fed. |

| | | Re: Robins gone? I'm told that at this time of the year you can expect an exodus of birds from your garden. Indeed, a comment along those lines is included in the current RSPB members magazine. Plenty of natural food elsewhere for them.
But they'll be back!
And so far as Robins are concerned, my first returnee a few fays ago was one of this year's juveniles. Not sure what the rather territorial adults will have to say about that when they come back. LOL!
Cheers,
Bryan

| | | Re: Robins gone? I'm hoping they will all return, the garden seems lonely without them! At the moment we only see the odd greenfinch and chaffinch, whereas until the end of July we had so many different garden birds in huge numbers including a robin who visited us in our home several times a day. I miss them | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
