| | | Re: gull id please Juv gulls a pain to id but I have had a good look and going to stick my neck out here and say I dont think it a juv herring gull to much white in head and neck nearest I can can find is juv yellow legged gull looked at few juv gulls and was two other possibles juv lesser black backed gull but still had more brown on head and neck than one in the pic or juv greater black backed which had more white in head and neck but it also has more white showing on wings than one in the pic so will stick with juv yellow legged gull. Sure some will tell me if I am wrong MIKE |

| | | Re: gull id please Addmit could well be lesser black backed but iam still leaning towards yellow leg juv. As well as thinking head and neck showing more white than would expect on juv lesser black backed ,wings also look longer then I would expect on lesser black backed but as said. juv gulls can be a pain to ID and pumage can vary. So may well be wrong MIKE |

| | | Re: gull id please There are yellow legged gulls reported at chew and many lesser black backed so im afraid i cant help any further but i am no good on youngsters,as each year the plumage changes intil adulthood and that can be 3 or 4 years so i am told.
