| | | Can you name this bird? Hello everyone. I'm hoping for some help in identifying a bird I saw while on holiday in Conwy in Wales earlier in July. I've used the RSPB bird identifier, but I'm still not sure what I saw.
At the time I saw the birds, I was staying next to a farm about half a mile from the sea on the Conwy coast in North Wales. I saw three or four of the birds and would describe them as roughly about the size of a sparrow, a red crest on their heads, mainly beige in colour, but with attractive black and white flashes on their wings (I think). I can't describe any behaviour other than they flew around and landed on the washing line.
I'm not a bird spotter, but this wee fellow was very distinctive, and I'd like to find out what it was. Any ideas? |

If it looked like this bird then it was likely a Redpoll. |
