| | | Bird call I'm aware that it's tricky to put a bird call into writing, and harder still to tell what it is, however i'm optimistic someone might know!
The call is a loud long drawn out fffeeeesshhh, not disimilar to the wheeze of a greenfinch. I hear this a lot both in town and country. I'm not convinced it is a greenfinch because
1. I hear it more than I'd expect to hear from a greenfinch; and
2. It isn't preceded by the twittering that a greenfinch does
What else makes that sort of wheezy call? I've not been able to spot the bird in question! Sparrow?
Any help appreciated, thanks |

| | | Re: Bird call Hi there only a guess here but i am thinking a goldfinch or a longtailed tit its not a sound i hear everyday in my garden ...but when either of those birds are in the trees near me their more unusual noise allways makes me look up from what i am doing and have a good look !!! marion

| It doesn't always follow with the song.

Have a listen (it does the wheeze call a few times during the vid). ‪Siskin Singing‬‏ - YouTube |
